Kansas City Barbecue Tour (DV0910H)

Season Nine, Episode Ten

Kansas City Barbecue Tour - Original Airdate 7/12/10

This trip Guy Fieri is on the inside track to Kansas City barbeque. In an industrial neighborhood, an award winning pit master serving up the KC specialty, burnt ends. In a southern suburb, a classically trained chef putting his spin on smoked pork. Then just down the street, a joint where they're taking barbequed chicken to the deep fryer. And at an old wood yard, mixing up a one-of-a kind rub for baby back ribs.

Johnny's BBQ is the one you are missing. Best place of the bunch-hands down.

You have to be kidding me... I have eaten at all three several times and Johnny's is the worst of the three in Mission!!! His meat maybe good but try his ribs and burnt ends and compare the three and you will see the real difference. Fancy smokers doesn't get the job done.

Which of the restaurants - halves and smokes the meat then fries it for 2-3 minutes?

I am referencing the 5 lb. chicken that is halved, sorry.

Johnnys does that with the chicken- sounds crazy but tasty!

I wanted to see a video of this episode, but could not locate one, so I'll just have to wait until it airs again October 25th, 2010 10:30 pm et/pt.

I recall Guy goes over the ingredients for the rub, which would be wonderful to try out at home.

Unless of course, somebody beat me to this video, and can post a link?

I found the episode and here is the link but I want to know the ratios so I can do this at home.
